Charlotte FD responds to a fatal crash on North Bound I-69 south of Cochran.

Charlotte, MI – This afternoon at 3:45pm Charlotte Fire Department was dispatched to reported since vehicle accident on south bound I-69 south of Cochran Rd. Charlotte Firefighters arrived on scene and found single SUV had left the highway and hit a tree with two occupants in the vehicle. The male driver of the SUV was trapped in the vehicle and was found to have no pulse and not breathing. He was pronounced deceased on scene. The female passenger was found with serious injuries but alive. Firefighters extricated the woman from the vehicle and Eaton Area EMS transported the woman to the hospital.
Charlotte firefighters were on scene with Eaton Area EMS and Eaton County Sherriff. Eaton County Sherriff is handling the accident investigation.
