Firefighter injured while at vehicle crash.

Charlotte, MI – This morning at 11:30am Charlotte Fire Department was dispatched to reported rollover accident on South bound I-69 near Island Highway. A Charlotte Volunteer Firefighter arrived on scene along with Eaton Area EMS. Before the firefighter was unable to exit his truck a SUV rear ended him. Other Charlotte firefighters arrived and they began to treat the injured firefighter and other people involved in the original rollover and the two people in the SUV who rear ended the firefighter. Eaton Area EMS transported 3-4 people to area hospitals and Charlotte FD transport the injured firefighter to Eaton Sparrow. The firefighter received minor injuries and was treated and released.
Motorists are reminded that Michigan’s Move Over law requires motorists to slow down and move over for stationary authorized vehicles with flashing, rotating, or oscillating lights activated.
Charlotte FD has responded to numerous vehicle crashes on I-69 due to the snow storm.
