**Grant announcement** We are excited to announce we have been awarded a $714,84318 FEMA grant

Our department received a call for an unknown powder substance scattered throughout the 2nd-floor apartment of a 2-unit house on E

Henry St. The tenants of the apartment were evicted a few days prior, leaving damage to the property along with the powder. We responded to the scene and talked with the person making the report to gather more information, we were told that the people that entered the apartment complained about their “eyes burning”, but were now out and feeling ok. Staffed with employees, the Charlotte Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) was opened for shelter (located on Paine Dr.).
Everyone did an incredible job, and fortunately the storms did not produce the anticipated impact.

With all preparations made, we are happy to report only some minor damage and no reported injuries on the grounds.
